Parks
The Birds Hill Provincial Park is located 24 km north of Winnipeg on Highway 59 and offers playgrounds, picnic areas, a beach, sporting facilities, hiking, swimming and cross-country ski trails. There ae also parks in Dugald and Hazelridge, Oakbank and Vivian.

Skating/Curling/Hockey
There are two curling rinks with a total of six sheets in the Rural Municipality of Springfield. Dugald, Oakbank and Hazelridge each have sports teams that are supported by the residents in the Rural Municipality of Springfield. Among these, the Springfield 98s and NE Ice are ice-hockey teams based in Oakbank and Hazelridge.

Arenas
There are two arenas in Springfield with a capacity of 500 - 600 and 200 respectively. The Hazelridge Arena and the Curling Arena are the major sports complexes in the area that can accommodate a multitude of sports activities.

Fitness Centre
One fitness centre houses major equipment to help give residents an all-round cardiovascular and physical workout. Equipment such as a stepper, a glider, universal gyms, bikes and tread-mills are found at this facility.

Golf Courses
There are several golf courses in the Rural Municipality of Springfield.  

The Meadows, which is located just north of the Perimeter on Highway 59.  The opening date for the first 9 holes is July 10, 2004 while the other 9 will open sometime in the fall. Call 204-667-4653 for more information.

Fantasy Lake Golf Course  is designed to allow players to complete a round of Par 3 golf in less than 3 hours.  Located outside the East Perimeter on Trans Canada Highway makes this one of the most easily accessible golf courses in the area.  It boasts 18 par 3 holes, a 400 yard driving range and a fully licensed club house.  For more information you can call 204-777-7273 (par3) or visit www.westrock.ca/fantasy.html
Along Garven Road, south of Birds Hill Park you will find two amazing golf course and country clubs.

Pine Ridge Golf Course
was built in 1912, and is located on the side of a ridge with hilly terrain and tree lined fairways.  Its immaculate, park like state makes it a very beautiful course.  This private 18 hole course can be reached at 204-222-1573 for more information.

Elmhurst Golf and Country Club
is an 18 hole private club that host various tournaments throughout the year.  It boasts a banquet hall, clubhouse, golf instruction classes, and a fully stocked pro shop.  For more information you can call 204-224-2244 or visit www.elmhurst.cc

Athletic Track
The Rural Municipality of Springfield has one athletic track in the town of Oakbank.

Baseball Diamonds
There are many baseball diamonds in the Rural Municipality of Springfield. The Springfield Braves provide residents with hardball sports.

Basketball Courts
The Rural Municipality of Springfield boasts four basketball courts.

Tennis Courts
Tennis Courts are available for those who wish to take part in the sport.

Horseback Riding
The Rural Municipality of Springfield has numerous riding stables, and is considered to be one of the highest horse to person ratio area in Canada.

Snowmobiling
There are in excess of 100 kilometres of trails in the Rural Municipality of Springfield.

Campgrounds
There are three main campgrounds with 233 unserviced trailer sites and another 175-250 that are serviced with electrical outlets. Full-service consisting of sewage, water and electrical is available on a seasonal basis. Two of the campgrounds have washrooms/showers with indoor plumbing and sewage dump stations.

Accommodations
Accommodations can be obtained at the Springfield Motel, located 15 minutes from downtown Winnipeg with quiet, comfortable, one and two bedroom units. The motel contains 5 units with a capacity of 19. Small pets are permitted. Contact 204-222-9959 for more information.

The Anola Village Inn is within 15 minutes of Winnipeg and has 4 units with a capacity of 7. It boasts an excellent licensed restaurant and friendly atmosphere. Small pets are permitted.

The Deer Run Bed and Breakfast, located in Anola is situated 27 km from Winnipeg. This accommodation features fish in their trout pond, vegetable, berry and floral gardens, spacious grounds and picnic tables. Contact 204-866-3648 for more information.

Twin Barrel Lodge, located in Oakbank, has 3 units with a capacity of 12. It boasts a licensed dining room plus a banquet facility, a pub and a patio and is just a short distance from Winnipeg. Contact them at 204-444-2409 for more information.

Airport/Flying Club

Lyncrest Airport is a Pioneer Airport established by Donald Patterson of the Patterson Grain company in the 1940s. It is now owned and operated by the Springfield Flying Club (SFC) which was formed in 1978. Pilots from the SFC appreciate providing volunteer services to the RCMP, Public Safety, Search and Rescue, Fire Department, Farmers, Cadets, Collegiates and others as requested. Aircraft located at the Lyncrest Airport include the oldest homebuilt aircraft in Canada - a Pietenpol built in Oakbank in 1933! As well as many antique, classic, and contemporary aircraft on wheels, floats, and skiis. SFC has become reknown for a scrumptious annual BBQ Fly-In held each year around the 3rd weekend of August that attracts about 350 people or more. Located at 514 Murdock Road, Lyncrest Airport and the SFC is home to numerous national aviation organizations including the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) and the Recreational Aircraft Association (RAA). COPA organizes fly-ins and air events, including an annual trip to the International Peace Gardens. Contact Harry Wiebe hwiebe@mts.net for details. SFC, COPA, and RAA offer Young Eagle rides to people under the age of 18 interested in learning more about aviation. In 2003, the RAA Workshop-Final Assembly building, one of its kind in Canada, was completed. This facility provides students, cadets, pilots, builders, and individuals of all ages interested in the aerospace industry with the opportunity to drop in and gain hands-on experience in aircraft building techniques, theory of flight, and other aviation related concepts. Financial support from the RM of Springfield and over 80 volunteer pilots, builders, tradespeople and building supply outlets created this unique facility!
