Phillip's Massage Therapy "For instant relief, try slowing down!" Lily Tomlin Jon O. Phillips Rem MT Licensed, Registered Massage Therapist The Therapist I have been interested in massage for many years. It was my first visit to a massage therapist that sparked my desire to share this remarkable treatment with others. The rejuvenating feeling that the session gave me was too good to keep to myself. I gave gift certificates to friends and family in thanks for things they had done for me. This just did not seem to be enough. I started getting lessons from my therapist and also attended various evening and weekend workshops. It was after my first CranioSacral Therapy workshop that I decided to learn all that I could about massage therapy and hands on work. I enrolled in the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba, Access Program. It was a turning point for me. The instructors and my classmates were all there to teach, or to learn, about something that was exciting for all of us. Every class brought new and exhilarating information and techniques for our use. I have since graduated the 2200 hour program and hold a City of Winnipeg Massage Therapy Licence. I now practise in both Pine Falls and Winnipeg. Insurance Coverage Many insurance carriers are including massage therapy in their benefit packages. This is partly due to the fact, that for some conditions, therapeutic massage may reduce, or eliminate the need for surgery. Massage therapy may also speed up injury recovery to get the client back in shape sooner. Call your insurance supplier to see if you have this coverage! Modern Massage Therapy Massage therapy being practiced today is becoming more and more popular. It's roots come from as far back in time as Hippocrates himself. The "usual" form used today is Swedish Massage, combined with the North American influence of trigger point therapy and myofascial techniques. Many massage therapists combine oriental, CranioSacral and other modalities to best suit their talents and their clients needs. The wellness aspects of massage that help a client with their overall state of health, is increasingly gaining greater recognition by both the medical professionals, and the health care insurance providers. Your Session The treatment you will receive will be tailored to your needs. A medical history form will be completed to determine any preexisting conditions that may affect your treatment. We will discuss the plan of treatment to ensure it meets your approval. Your first visit will last up to an hour and a half. Subsequent visits; one hour. During your treatment you will be fully covered, with only the area being worked on exposed. Wear loose, comfortable clothing for a CranioSacral session. Essential Alignment treatments work best if you arrive clean and dry. Complete privacy during the treatment, and confidentiality regarding your records and personal facts will be maintained at all times. Consultation with other health care workers will be sought with your consent only. Location:- 18 Pine St, Pine Plaza, Pine Falls, Manitoba, Canada clinic: (204) 367-2141 |
